Reuter. Romanian police broke up a demonstration on Sunday by tens of thousands of ethnic Hungarians protesting against the eviction of a Protestant priest in Transylvania.

The Independent. Dozens, perhaps hundreds of people have been killed in the Western Romaian town of Timisoara, after security forces intervened on Sunday with tanks and firearms against demonstrators who are attempting to protect ethnic Hungarian pastor, Lazlo Tokes., from eviction by the authorities.
UPI Visitors to Western Romania have emerged with tales of a Tiannanmen square-style massacre of democracy activists, describing morges filled with bodies, tanks patrolling streets and citizens seizing guns to fire on soldiers in the town of Timisora.
