A seies of new paintings exploring layering & textDrawing attention to the edge and surface; exploring painting as a performative process. All paintings were built in layers of heavy white acyrlic on canvas primed with red oxide.

Texts were deliberately scratched into the surfaces in a backhand writing style. Layer upon layer painted as quickly and as emotionally focused as possible ­ layering taking several months to accumulate. Finally layers of bitumin tar soakings, swill and spillages are added and repeatedly cleaned off to create archival washes.
