Performance exploring the Welsh diaspora in Argentina
'in Patagonia'

Patagonia is a territory in Argentina. Its cultural and geologic landscape is rich in metaphor: one can trace it's contours against the present. You can trace the migration of the Welsh here to create an independent colony in 1865; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid hiding out in Cholila, Antoine de Saint-Exupery navigating solo flights across it's vast open spaces of unpolluted light, and through the invisible; those absent forever, desaparecido, as a consequence of the Process of National Re-organisation [AKA: The Dirty War]. You can feel these traces in the contours of memory, landscape, and language. Patagonia is where you disappear.
